Cold Room Compressor Rack

When high-efficiency cold rooms and refrigerators are required, and typically multiple evaporators are involved, a cold room compressor rack equipped with multiple compressors is used. The cold room compressor rack is designed with a minimum cooling capacity equal to the total required capacity of the site. Unlike standard condensing units with a single compressor, a central rack or cold room compressor rack can include 2 to 6 compressors, supplying the entire cooling demand of cold rooms and refrigerators independently.

The compressors in a cold room rack operate in parallel and are integrated within the system. The electrical control panel manages and monitors the compressors’ operation. Usually equipped with a PLC, the panel continuously determines, based on input and output pressure and temperature data, how many compressors and at what capacity should be active. It also rotates compressors into standby based on runtime to prevent wear and damage.

A major advantage of using a cold room compressor rack is energy savings, as it can reduce electricity consumption by up to 40%. This system is highly recommended for large food stores such as hypermarkets with multiple refrigerators and cold rooms.
